The entire exterior of the building features a veranda, allowing visitors to enjoy a modern Korean garden from any angle. It hosts various sensory events such as outdoor performances, indoor art exhibitions, and AYU gatherings. The combination of traditional Hanok and contemporary concrete walls creates a sense of timeless charm. AYU Space was established to introduce to the public as “Holistic Healing Place with Architecture, Culture & Nature” that the Founder & CEO Miyoung von Platen personally experienced and enjoyed through her 30 years of living in Europe. Studied at Central St. Martins College of Art & Design and Sotheby's Institute and obtained an MA in Museum & Gallery Management at City University in London. She has worked as an independent curator at several museums and galleries in Europe, including Uppsala Konst Museum in Sweden, Galleri Charlotte Lund & Cecilia Hillstrom Gallery in Stockholm. While managing EU organic forestry farm in Sweden, she has become immersed in eco-friendly well- being culture and studied herbal science, Ayurveda, and food science. She has opened AYU Space with the belief that modern Korean garden, architecture, art and design set by the picturesque Bukhan riverfront will become the landmark place for many generations.
